Ready for Take Off - Jet Lag

Although the Science and Technology fields have made many breakthroughs over the years, but no one has found a cure for jet lag.

Here are some tips which I hope can help you to combat jet lag.

Avoid espresso and dark roast coffee.
Cafeine can be dehydrating and can cause headache.
Drink some fruit juice instead.

Flight schedules play an important role.

For those travelling to Asia, try to take a flight that arrives in the early morning. After checking into the hotel and taking a shower, go straight to work. After the day by 10pm, you will have no problem sleeping.

For those travelling to Europe countries, be ready to adhere to the local time zone. Try to land before dinner time in the destination time zone. So you can eat your dinner and get a good night sleep.

When the perfect time isn't possible, find out what time it is at your final destination, and try to adjust your sleep time accordingly. Do everything you can on the plane to tell your body it is 11am.
Read a book, watch movies or listen to your iPod, do everything you can, not to sleep till it is time to sleep in those different time zone countries.

Of course, sometimes it is easier said than done.
People don't sleep well on planes but please try to push yourself hard to reach the natural nighttime. Do some physical exercise and activity to flip time zones and get to the local sleeping time. Hit the gym in the hotel will definitely help your body to feel better.

The most important thing for quickly adapting to a new time zone is how well you sleep on the first day.
Try a glass of red wine. It will definitely help.

The above tips may not completely eliminate jet lag.
Just hope they will help you bounce back faster.
